 About the Town of Barnstable:

Barnstable is centrally located about halfway along the biceps of the Cape Cod arm. Cape Cod and Barnstable County are synonymous. As the largest community on Cape Cod and a business destination, the Town is the regional commerce, banking, healthcare, education, government, and transporation hub.

Founded in 1639 the town has a total area of 76.2 sqare miles of which 60.0 square miles of it is land and 16.2 square miles of it is water. It is bordered by Cape Cod Bay on the north, Nantucket Sound on the south, Sandwich and Mashpee on the west and Yarmouth on the east. Barnstable is approximately 70 miles southeast of Boston. They Hyannis area is a great place to start a business as it's Cape Cod's central business/commercial district. With a population of over 46,000 and thousands of tourists visiting each year, Hyannis offers business oweners a great opportunity  to sell their products and services. Our daytime population exceeds 56,000 with over 3,900 businesses.

Promotional Opportunities:
MOTT will be participating in the Boston Globe Travel Show on Saturday and Sunday, February 11 and 12 at the Seaport Boston, World Trade Center. At the trade show booth, MOTT will be collecting consumer information and emails and, the week after the show, these leads will be posted on its leads page. MOTT would love your participation and here are a few ways you can get involved:

 

  • OFFER A PRIZE PACKAGE: MOTT is looking for at least six (6) prizes which will be given away as door prizes to those who stop by MOTT's booth. The prize might be anything from a dinner for two, to a family four-pack tour, to an overnight stay or a behind-the-scenes tour. The prizes will be promoted at the MOTT booth. MOTT needs all prize donations by Wednesday, February 1. To donate a prize, please contact Phyllis M. Cahaly at phyllis.cahaly@state.ma.us, 617-973-8509, or sent prize to the address below.

 

  • DONATE "MADE IN MASSACHUSETTS" FOOD PRODUCTS: MOTT will be distributing individually pre-wrapped 'Made in Massachusetts' food products at its booth (such as individually bagged potato chips, cookies, etc.). If you have individual, pre-wrapped food products or food items from gift shops that are 'Made in Massachusetts' and you would like to donate at least 250 pieces and no more than 500 pieces, MOTT will distribute them at the show. Also, MOTT will post a sign at the booth identifying the product, donor and business location. MOTT needs all food product donations by Wednesday, February 1.
